Hello Jean,
I agree with you regarding the lines and angles of the buildings. There are lots of diagonals that create a fine rhythm. I also like the brown chimneys above the green tree on the left side. The thick stone wall and staircase also add fine lines. Possibly, but not necessarily, you could have cropped the lower part with the pool, whose curved lines somewhat break the pattern. The WS photos are also worth seeing but this is by far the most interesting composition.

Default To holmertz: To crop or not?

Hello Gert, I understand and appreciate your suggestion about cropping the pool from the picture, but I decided that I liked that triangular corner pointing towards the background.
One of those pictures that one likes, but cannot always explain why!
