Dawn or dusk? Given this is Whitby, I'm going for dawn. It doesn't matter: the fact is you were at the right place at the right time to capture a stunning seascape, with beautiful subtle colouration. Composition's out of the top drawer too.

Thanks for your comment. The shot was taken around (and probably just after) sunset with a ten-stop ND.
