Great ramthakur 2006-05-04 15:55

Very stark landscape, Vishal.
This is April and the trees are barren and leafless.
Has the forest dried up?
Or is denudation of trees still on, waiting for the rains?
I have lived in Rajsthan for 12 years, but that was long time ago. Is my memory failing me?

Default To ramthakur: hi

Thanks for appreciating this post,
well at the time I visited Ranthambhore there was absolutely no sign of rainfall, the climate was hot, dry and very dusty.
The scenario of the landscape and trees within the National Park was more over similiar to this.
There are a few lakes/ponds in the forest which contain a decent level of water for the animals :)

I have a post on TL explaining the significance of keeping water for birds & animals in India :)
Water for Birds

Cheers have a good weekend :)
