Hello, Gert,
Three fantastic photos of the youth of Lhasa in 1986. Probably a lot has changed over the years. For example, last week I read that George Orwell's 1984 in China is almost realized and everyone with modern technology is being followed 24/7. And also that the original Tibetan people are diligently diluted with Han Chinese.
The boys probably do not laugh at the camera so happily nowadays.

Thank you Rob,
Yes, the Tibetans and Uigurs of Xinjiang don't seem to have a bright future as ethnic and cultural minorities. Han Chinese are actively encouraged to move to those areas and the religions are efficiently suppressed. It's a kind of "soft ethnic cleansing" going on. I was in China in 1986, but almost 33 years later advanced technology has made the calendar show 1984! Best wishes, Gert
