Great macjake 2011-03-05 15:25

Hi James
sorry it took so long to get back to you, i was away for a week or so.
i think i see the deliberate darkening of the edges again? i like it, putting the spotlight onto the bird itself.
and obviously the blue tones appeal to my photographic vision, so i'm gonna like it.
it doesnt' bother me at all if the bird isn't perfectly focused. capturing these birds in flight is one of the most difficult subjects to get pinpoint sharp, even professional wildlife photographers have a hard time with it, and they have the best lenses.
so overall its great, love the white and blue
cheers
craig

Craig,

Thank you for your comments, hope you enjoyed your week away. Yes I've uploaded a lot of blue stuff lately, I suppose it was inevitable you would stop by eventually Yes a little vignetting adds nicely to this kind of image I think, as you say, it highlights the subject. I would have been using AI Servo mode, the continuious autofocus but I have only the most basic of lenses really and probably not the quickest.

Regards,
James
