Great Royaldevon 2020-02-15 4:16

Hello Gyorgy,

This ruined castle is typical of the strong, square style of the Normans.
I do believe it was built on the remains of an early Roman fort, not surprising when you think of its position, protecting a natural harbour on the south coast!
The inclusion of the family seems to bring it up to date, rather than it just being a ruin, it is somewhere for modern families to visit and enjoy!

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Talking To mkamionka: Eyemouth

Thank you, Mariusz.
Eye is the name of the river so where it reaches the sea, Eyemouth!

The wind seems to have dropped at the moment. Iím not sure if it is over or whether it is just a lull!
There has been quite a bit of flooding in our area. The land is not drying out, or the river levels dropping in height, before more rain arrives!
Our daughterís partner arrived back from SanFrancisco last w/e. His plane had to circle for half an hour above Heathrow before it could land. The passengers were quite worried. I think a cancellation would be preferable for your grandma than endure such conditions.

keep your fingers crossed, Bev 😊
