I wonder how big the city next to this place was, to make such a huge theatre meaningful. Your angle on the other end gives a good idea of the size. Surrounding landscape looks lovely.

Bitola is the city that has been close to Heraclea since the end of the sixth century. But in Heraclea's heyday when there were theatrical performances and gladiator fights, I suppose it was the inhabitants of Heraclea themselves who attended them. I cannot find anywhere how many inhabitants Heraclea had at that time... Kind regards, Paul
