Great ifege 2019-01-11 20:27

Hi Gyorgy
He doesn't look overly impressed but another great street photo. Perfect blacks and contrast.
I expect to be visiting Hungary later this year and will try to remember your notes if palinka pops up. I thought it must be a plum brandy but on looking it up it looks like the fruit base can vary a lot.
Cheers
Ian

Hello Ian,

Plum and apricot pálinkas are the classic, but as a basic rule if a fruit is suitable to make jam, it is good for pálinka too. If you have the time pay me a visit at Miskolc (two hours from Budapest by train) and we can have a short trip in the nearby, eg to Göncz, the home of the most famous apricot pálinka.

Gy.
