Hello Luis,
Very often temples and shrines in Japan are located in large gardens or parks. This is almost always the case in Kyoto where the temples can be found on the edge of the city. The Senso-ji Temple in Tokyo is located in the densely built-up district of Asakusa. I have consciously chosen this picture as the main post because the modern buildings are visible and referring to the metropolis Tokyo where the temple is located.
