Great kasianowak 2019-07-21 7:23

Interesting to know that Badaling was as crowded with tourists as it is these days. I visited Beijing en route to North Korea, on the Chinese National Day and was advised to avoid this stretch of the Great Wall (I did see photos of it later - a sea of heads, a forest of hands holding smartphones; selfie sticks had not yet been invented). So I went to Jinshanling, and, while I wouldn't say I "had the place to myself" it wasn't busy at all, because everyone and their dog and their mother was at Badaling...
So I haven't seen it but I heard this stretch of the Wall has been renovated since you visited. Your photo is a powerful document of what it looked like at the time. Thank you for sharing! :-)
Have a nice week.
Kasia

Default To kasianowak: Thank you Kasia

Hello Kasia,
Thank you so much for taking your time again and for your kind words, including the Cape Verde photo which you are completely forgiven for not having seen before.
Wish you a nice week too,
Gert
