D3200 to iPad

Good evening,

I am currently trying to find the best way of transferring photo's from my new Nikon D3200 to my iPad with Retina (iPad 4); there seems to be two different ways:

Lightning to SD connector
Wireless Mobile Adapter WU-1a

Neither of these options appear to have particularly good reviews, is there a better way?! I will have my USB cable with me, something so simple seems to be quite difficult for Nikon/Apple...
