Great PaulVDV 2021-03-15 16:01

Hello Chris,
I never saw Istanbul from that viewpoint and find it difficult to orientate myself in this photo.
I see the domes and minarets of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. I think I even see a tower of the Topkapi Palace.
The Golden Horn must therefore be just in front of this part of Istanbul.
But I have no idea what the waterway in the left of the picture is. Between the Bosphorus and the modern part of the city where you were, we still see water where a ship is sailing out. No idea what this is...
Best regards, Paul

Default To PaulVDV: Bosporus

Hi Paul

The Peninsula at right is Topkapi / Sultan Ahmet. The Sea of Marmara is directly out in front and the channel with the ship at left and above the large twin white high rise buildings at top left is the Bosporus.

The Maidens Tower is near the ship at left.

Thanks Chris,

It is unbelievable that you could see the other side of the Marmara Sea.

Best regards,
Paul
