Hello Bev,
I know what a British Public School is, but are they all automatically also Boarding Schools? If that is the case, perhaps the taller statue boy looks so confident because he keeps the younger boy (who may be dreaming of his home) as his "slave", forcing him to polish his shoes, make his bed, run various errands etc. Or have these fine boarding school traditions faded away by now?
The building looks quite fine and the photo is well composed, as far as the conditions allowed. But it looks remarkably much sharper in the larger version.
Kind regards,
Gert

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Gert.
As to your question, I don't know whether 'fagging' still exists in Public Schools. It has been illustrated in many books and many confessions but, supposedly ceased by the end of the 20th century. I wouldn't be surprised if it still existed to a lesser degree! Kind regards, Bev :-) |
