How to copy your TE photos to your own computer

• Dear all,

I recently got a number of emails on how to copy all your photos offline, including the comments and your notes. I can be done with a software package you can find here:

HTTrack site copier

You will need to make a bit of an effort to get all your photos, since you need to set the depth the software needs to search. Don't set it too shallow, since you won't get all your photos and don't set it too wide, since you'll be downloading the entire website.

Off course, delete all photos you would accidentally copy of other people.

Good luck,
Dennis

Another more user friendly option is Web Copier 5.1.

It is a bit more graphical. You start within your own photo page:

http://beta.trekearth.com/members//photos/

An internal depth of search of 3 to 4 and an external depth of search of 1. Again, delete all files that you would accidentally copy of other people.

This forum thread is not to encourage illegal copying! It is to let you copy your own files on the TE page to your own computer. (People who do want to use your photos illegally already know how this works...)

Cheers, Dennis

There's also a Firefox plugin called Abduction! that lets you save any Web page (or part of it) as an image file. You have to do it manually page by page, but it can be an easy to use alternative if you don't have too many pages to save.
