Great street picture, Jorge, though it's a bit strange to see a food stall without food. I guess you might have had to get up early here.

Benny

PS: The sign above says it's goat meat.

Talking To BennyV: Goat or sheep

Hello Benny,
I was impressed that you could read in Chinese, but looked in Google translate .

羊 Yang means sheep.
山羊 Shānyng means goat, but I do not see here shan.
Meat 肉 Ru I do not see here.
I do not know how to put Chinese characters inro Google translate .

Smile sheep or goat

Haha, I only now see that you've replied here, Malgo.

Yang can mean both sheep and goat, the distinction isn't made in Chinese. I believe there are other languages too in which goat and sheep are considered to be the same animal. Your translation for goat adds "shan" to it, which means mountain, so in Chinese a goat is a mountain sheep. Makes sense?

Anyway, the distinction is food for linguists. The Chinese will just want to eat it.
