Hello All,

I am planning to buy a DSLR (Canon 350D). I read reviews about 350D that it’s kit lens 18-55mm lens is not that impressive. Can you please advise me some good lens for canon 350D. I am new to SLR, so any information on lens will be very helpful. Please guide me to select a good lens inside my budget.

Hello Mac,

1.) How close are you able to get to people?

2.) What is your budget?

I think the best for now is the lens kit! the 18/55 is fine what people may say, there no bad lenses, there's only bad photographers!!!!check on the site you'll find so many shots made with this lens, myself I bought my 20D without, the other I found a brand new one in a store for 99€ and I bought it, it's a useful lens , lightweight, and if I break it I will not cry!And by the way this is a good lens, check this also.........

I agree with Philippe. For your budget, the kit lens is the best option as a walkaround lens. it can give you pretty good results between f5.6 and f11.

Other pretty cool option is the cannon 50mm f1/8.

You can get it for 100usd (+/-) ... amazing results and great lens for portraits... with 200USD you can buy them both if you seek well.

I must say i bought the 50mm recently and i'm most impressed with it...

The combination 18-55 and 50 makes sense to me.
Since you mentioned night photography, I'd like to suggest the RC1 remote control, very handy for such shots and exposure > 30 seconds using bulb mode.
