Two affordable softwares that are powerful and have far more potential than photoshop elements :
- Paintshop Pro - Ulead Photo Impact 8 (tons of filters and plug ins available on their site, for free if you buy the software) For both you can download a trial version and check out if they suit you. As someone said before, GIMP is a free very powerful software. But..it is really complicated to use because you must work with several windows opened at the same time on your screen. You just get used to the menus, not an easy task (I use myself Photoshop CS and think it's much easier than GIMP...) Cheers |

HI Olga, about Paintshop pro, a new version 9 has just come out, I have read it's now available in two versions, a std one with all features and a somewhat lighter one called studio that targets digital photographers. You may want to check which new features both versions bring compared with V8. I do not use Paintshop pro, but I have read several positive comments from TE members.
