Hello fellow travelers,
we just got our booking confirmation yesterday for Lombok, Indonesia in June :) We have a 9 hour stop in Singapore flying with Singapore Airlines, so the question is: What to do there ? Is it really true that you get a free city tour while waiting and that they have a wonderful swimmingpool for those who have to wait ? If anyone has any experience in killing waiting time in Singapore Airport, please let me know :) Yours, Jan (who can't wait....) |

I can't answer your question but can add another one. Is there a secure, left luggage facility at the airport? Otherwise you will have to carry any flight bags around with you.

Hi Jan, for more information check out this official Singapore Airlines website.
http://www.singaporeair.com/saa/app/saa?hidHeaderAction=onHeaderMenuClick&hidTopicArea =StopoverHolidays¤tSite=global Sorry, you will have to cut and paste the link to view. If it won't work, go to Singapore airlines main page and view under Travel info/stop over. Cheers. |

Thanks for your help Keith and Jasmine.
I went to their site but am still not sure if this is only applicable if you stay there overnight. We have a stop from 6.30am to 3:35pm. On the flight back home we have only 2:30 hours waiting time. I send an email to the contact address on the website, asking my questions with the added hint from Keith. Yours, Jan |

I see, your stop over is at such weird hours. What do you plan to do? Shopping or photography? Or explore venues for local food (if you are a food lover).
If it's not too much a hassle, would you share with us the reply you get from SIA?Thanks |

The Singapore Zoo is terrific.
Antique shopping is wonderful. Visit 'Little India'. The botanical gardens are packed with every type of orchad imaginable. Have a great meal. |

If you have any interesting in Computers and general gadgetry, I'd suggest you look into Funan IT mall and Sim Lim Square. I could (and probably did) spend days in there :-)
