no, they didn't realize I was taking a picture of them. Usually I'm shy and I don't dare take pictures of strangers, so I learned a trick: I was photographing the landscape outside the windows and towards the opposite side, and I was following the scene with one eye (so to say), then very quickly I moved my camera towards them and clicked the shutter and quickly turned again the other side...
I've experimented several times this trick and it works! (:-)
