Great torben 2006-07-27 16:37

The dark rich tones do suggest the just-after-rain moment indeed, they look good.

The wide-angle perspective works well too, quite dynamic even if the scene as such is very static, I like the tension that is created that way.

It's a pity with the four vases with green stuff though, they are disturbing the fine architectural rhythm of busy paving, calm wall, busy roof, calm sky. And what's up with that pale blue strip at the foot of the portico? People just do crazy things to destroy the natural flow of good architecture. While I'm on the nagging-about-details bit, it looks like there are some post-processing halos around the green stuff in the vases?

Now that is of course no fault of yours - well you could have moved the vases, but that might be a bit too involved (although, once when I worked at an architects office in Amsterdam, I was asked to assist a photographer taking photographs of a villa designed by that office. My main job was moving the occupants unsatisfactory "designer-furniture" out of the way).

So I like the dynamic treatment of perspective and post-processing, contrasting the simple head-on perspective to give some dynamics in the image.

And - it's good to see you posting again, back in the day when I discovered TrekEarth, it was some of your stuff along with photos by skorj, avigur and olli that convinced me to sign up.
