Great MadraRua 2007-09-10 9:46

Excellent! Looks pin-sharp.
Great DOF and strong colours.
Pity some riders are hidden behind the leading horse.
I can't help thinking that you better move out of the way quick.
200mm I guess. Fine lens that 70-200 2.8! Someday....

I also see you have the 40D. What do you think about it?

thanks for the critique.

I was really pleased with this photo. Of the images I took on the day, I think this was the best. You can't compose photos of racing, so there will always be something technically wrong (such as the rider hidden in 2nd place), but otherwise I am happy.

The 70-200mm f/2.8 IS L is a stunning lens. I was actually at the side of the track here, so well safe.

The 40D is a brilliant camera. I have it about 5 days now. This was my first chance using it, and it was something else. I was stood between a friend with a 30D and a pro with a 1D MkII. So, it was click-click-click then my click-click-click-click and then the pro - click-click-click-click-click-click-click. All the frames rattling off. The quality from the 40D is just great. The images are so clear and sharp. The memory buffer is brilliant for sport, and there are just so many custom functions that will take me a while to get to try.

I'm sure you're having fun with it too.

Thanks for the detailed answer Paul.
I saw your photos in the times and Indo on that day. Congratulations!
It'll be a while till I'll upgrade to the 40D or the 70-200 2.8,
but one can always dream.
