There's no detail; maybe a lower position would have captured more foreground interest.
A great place to be with a camera though - tnx.

Thanks for the comment, I was on a wooden boardwalk above the rocks as they are fragile, so this was as low as I could get. I agree lower would be better but I believe in the take nothing but pictures and leave nothing in this case including footprints as they are a very rare and special rock.

Well that IS interesting Andrew!

I agree with you, and didn't realise that access was so restricted (quite right too).

I saw these stromatalites on my HDTV in a recent BBC TV program, and the presenter was crawling all over them! They did look impressive though.
