Great tyro 2020-05-04 14:43

Hello Romana,

Ah, ha! I've just been looking at this very same photograph (and some others) on Facebook! This looks to be an amazing place to walk - and it certainly appears nice and quiet just now. But with all that static water around, does this area not become infested with lots of flies and other insects once the weather gets warmer?

An interesting note - but why did the Pernsteins want to have a system of ponds? What did they do with them?

Anyway, Romana, this is a delightful photograph of what appears a tranquil place with some lovely soft reflections on the calm water and the little bright green leaves are an indication that spring is here.

Beautiful!

You take care and stay safe.

Kind Regards,

John.

Hello John,

Sweet water fish has been a valuable source of food here in the inland country. The water flowing to and out of the ponds used to be a sorce of energy to hammer mills and flower mills in the lowlands where fast running streams are rare. :-) and yes, the moskytoes have been already there. :-D. Best wishes

Romana
