Hello Gert,
The street name 'Kåkbrinken' will certainly raise eyebrows in Flanders :)
Several inscriptions in Swedish can be read in this photo, some of which are obvious to me, such as 'öppet' and 'antikt'. But on the other hand, 'affären' has a different meaning with us.
The photo shows indeed a very lively street view. The people look relaxed and in a shopping atmosphere.
Still, I really like the view of the other street at the back in the left half of the picture.
I think I've seen a picture of that street before. Maybe you've shown it before. Or perhaps it's because it seems so typical of Gamla Stan. Anyway, we see there several beautifully coloured facades in a good contrast with the blue sky.

To PaulVDV: kåk is not kak
Thank you Paul,
I suppose you are referring to the word 'kak', which doesn't exist in Swedish. I had always thought this street's name had something to do with the very common Swedish meaning of 'kåk' as a dilapidated house, but it seems the street got its name from an ancient word not used in Swedish for hundreds of years. 'Kåken' (the kåk) is now also a common reference to a prison. Best regards, Gert
