Great holmertz 2010-12-19 12:14

Hello Cristina,
The beautiful afternoon light is clearly visible even in b&w. The fisherman is well placed in front of the lightest part of the water. I like this kind of plain street shots of people performing any kind of activity, as you may have noticed. Although I often like to see a bit of the area surrounding the people, in this case the environment doesn't really add very much, so Clodo has a point with his ws.
Best regards,
Gert

hi gert,
thanks
yes, the immediate surroundings were not offering much, the other pier was too far away and the boats were some hundred meters away... but I chose to stick to the horizontal format because it's the format I feel more natural for my shots - I am not much of a portrait person... the vertical format most of the times doesn't do it for me
I could have gotten closer, but I had a 24mm lens on and I basically fell on my butt while going down on my knees, ahahahah!
next time I will get closer first and then sit down
greetings from a white Amsterdam,
c.
