I don't know anything about the scanner you are asking about, but one thing I would recommend is that you look into VueScan, which is amazing software. I was slow to try it out, but once I had done so I can't believe how much easier and better my scanning has become. The offer a free trial I believe, although one which will leave watermarks all over your final scans until you pay for the program. Very worthwhile.
