Hi Leilani,I guess this could be described as bleak. This looks a fairly modern church, certainly not as ornate or elaborate as most people would consider Catholic churches to be. November is the time when we traditionally remember the dead, All Souls day, and All Saints day both fall in this month. Decorations tend to be kept to a minimum during this time. All helps to concentrate the mind on prayer & reflection.
The low POV is well chosen, creating the nice tunnel effect of the pews.
Warm regards, Roberto

Hi Roberto, thank you for your kind critique. It's more the scene that I describe as bleak.. though the low light and emptiness of the church... It felt so vast and empty...if you have any religious upbringing you end up feeling that sense almost to your soul...It's like a small meek feeling...like you are insignificant. Not many decorations, just this big stone building with high wooden beams, leading to the alter...which was the only place with light on it... I had been placing my camera down to take a picture of kneeling prayer and I turned saw this image and took the shot. :)
Kind Rgds, Leilani |
