Hi Mariusz
It is interesting that youmention James Cook discovering unknown lands - they were only unknown to Europeans because there were planty of people alrady there.
A good coastal stack photo with dramatic scenery.

Hi Ian,
you are right of course -everything depends on the point of view.
One can consider a hypothetical collective knowledge of humanity and from that perspective somebody knew about the lands already. Sadly I don't know anybody from that times and nations, so in a way humanity needed to re-discover some places again and record diligently for future generations.
