Great emka 2019-08-15 13:33

hello paul, A lot to read and to see today :). Like You and Gert I was also there with the organized tour. The weather was horrible. We so moved around on rather a luxury boat but it rained and was foggy all the time. But it was great anyway. I saw a bit similar floating village but perhaps not this one. This is so big! I remember the cave. And I was kayaking somewhere in the rain, but have no photos, it could be bad for the camera.
I have seen other floating villages: one in Thailand (probably swept away in tsunami a year later) and also the Uros village on the lake Titicaca. My photo from Halong here.
Fascinating note and pictures.
Kind regards Malgo

Default To emka: Other floating villages

Thank you Malgo,

Your picture looks very attractive!
I've also been on the floating islands in Peru but in a time before I had a digital camera. But they look very different.
Did you also sink into the thatched ground all the time?
Where in Thailand did you see the floating village? Perhaps there's more than one village like that in Thailand.

Best regards,
