Hi Kev,

Nice thread!
You may or may not know Chiru Andreea (Trup) who is only 19. She has a very "poetic" (can't find a better word right now) and mature style.
I especially like her polyptych.

Cheers,

Nicolas

<a href=http://www.trekearth.com/members/ninaL/>Grazyna Letellier</a>. Her portraits are second to none on this site and some of her street photography is sublime.

<a href=http://www.trekearth.com/members/AnimeshRay/>Animesh Ray,, with his renowned Leica and his incredible eye for shadow, is not to be missed. His are some of the most subtle and intelligent photos you will see on TE.

David's suggestion of <a href=http://www.trekearth.com/members/prantik/>Prantik Mazumder</a> is a great one, though he doesn't seem to be active on this site much if at all anymore. But his photos of México are some of the most interesting and conceptually strong I've seen.

<a href=http://www.trekearth.com/members/polter/>Teresa Polanska</a>'s street shots are out of this world.

.....for those Mexican shots alone Prantik becomes a favourite - he was really playing with the light and framing in such wonderful ways and on film too - Grazyna and Animesh are long held favourites and although I have visited Teresa's work a short visit just now tells me I need to spend more time there - great suggestions Hugh - thanks for thinking about it!

Sure. Glad to help.

I didn't realize that Animesh and Grazyna were already among your favorites. I looked through your list and don't recall seeing them there, which is why I mentioned them specifically. I must have misunderstood.

Prantik is a great choice. As I said, though, unfortunately, we haven't seen much of him around these parts in a while.

Best,
-h.

Hi, Kev...

I strongly recommend this incredibly smart array of critiques and opinions...

Having such phenomenon among the favorites is a must for all of us...
To remind us.. To be aware about ourselves...

To know what we are capable of...

Read the list of names and the their positive critiques..
Prepare a glass of a strong whisky and sit comfortably...

I have another favourites list which extends my choices in the sense of 'photographers of note and also 'up and coming talents - in some ways these are more specifically chosen than 'favourites' were which might include a wider range of criteria - that sounds a bit business like but it is all within the spirit of openness and sharing which I enjoy as an aim of the TE 'tribe'!

As for combining the arts of photography, writing and critique you must know that you must also be on a list somewhere!

best wishes Kev

I never made it to the whisky but yes that is an interesting phenomena you have pointed out - someone described it as a TE madness - probably an ongoing daily madness of some sort - but hey I like your idea of this being amongst my favourites - it is a down to earther - a salutory reminder of the depths of talent and picture reading ability and taste here on TE - one mans poison is anothers nectar of the Gods!! ;-))

No....I can't bring myself to do it...i fell another list coming on!

Hi all,
Thats a very interesting discussion.
So I got to know a lot of other photographers I didn´t find before.
Thank you for that.
In my opinion manny is the best photographer on this site in the caterogy potraits and daily life shots.
Unfortunately he doesn´t write critiques anymore.
I would love to get advice from him.
But also other photographer are very talented and sometimes also pros.Thats a great thing for me so I can learn things from a lot of other very talented photographers and pros.
But what I do with adding favorites is that I don´t add everybody as one.
Some members just add the member as favorite that they will become the favorite of the memeber they add as favorite.
So I only have few her on this page.
I only add the "true" good photographers with watching their picture
not with seeing advaantages to me.
Floydian for example is also a very good photographer in my favorites
