Great KiiT 2008-03-10 19:32

Hi Warren, this is a very unusual spring scene for me, for a moment I thought that the background is also a snow covered hill until I saw your sunny afternoon shot (the link in your note is not working by the way, you meant the one titled 'Langmusi' in your gallery). In about two days things were back to the fine spring moment. What an extreme weather,, good documentary, not to mention that I like the image very much. Seems like a tough-to-frame setting. K.

Hi Kiit.
Thanks for your comments
It was an unusual spring scene for me too! I had planned on arrival to take a horse trek the next day. When we woke up the whole mountains were covered in snow. We didn't have very warm cloathes and we were hoping that nice weather would return quicky. Our wishes became reality in the afternoon, when the sun broke through the clouds. The next day, all snow had melted an dwe finally managed to do our horse trek in the grasslands.
Weather changes quickly in these Tibetan areas (3200 m high if I remember well). We visited 2 weeks too early as beginning of June, grasslands are covered with flowers. Nevermind, next time !!

Warren, thank you for the follow-up,
lucky you! for the miraculous disappearance of snow.
I wonder if this place is also affected by the recent mess (wish them the best)
but I will keep your words in mind, make sure to bring some warm jacket
whenever I visit the area.
