Default Uploading Problem - when is a JPEG not a JPEG?

I've been using TE - problem free - for quite a while now. However...
The other day I tried to upload, exactly as usual, and was greeted by the following red message "only JPEG photos are allowed".
I've checked my photos, they are JPEGs - always have been and I've not had any problem before. I even tried saving one of my own photos from TE (obviously a JPEG) and reposting it to a workshop, I got exactly the same message "only JPEG photos are allowed."
If anyone has the faintest idea what this means I'd be really grateful to know!!
Colin

I don't understand why, you had posted 153 pictures.
Did you change something with your software ?

Files must be only in letters or numbers any accent or some illegal character will result in this error message... Avoid spaces too
May this help!

Well quite, 153 pictures and no problem - that's why I'm baffled!!!
Nevertheless - I e-mailed direct TE and Adam suggested I try using the Firefox Browser, as oppose to Explorer. I've now tried this and it works!!! I've no idea why it should work, but it does!! I can only assume that this means there is some "fault" or "bug" in my Explorer programme. I'll investigate this further - but at least I'm able to post again.

I'm digging up this thread because I have the same problem.
How did you manage to fix Explorer Colin? Somebody has any idea?
Cheers,
Nicolas

If I remember well;
- clean up your database;
- no funny caracters in the name (+ / * & ^ % $ etc)
- same name as earlier photo?
also look for answers given by Didi :)

Thanks David,
It's none of that...
I had a windows update recently, maybe this changed something?
Cheers,
Nic

You probably installed Nikon Capture?
If yes then there is the problem. Capture does something with the JPG files, what is not really clear.
A lot of people here had that same problem...

It happened to me the other day, i renamed the file (it had no funky characters in the first place, but i renamed it anyway!) and it uploaded OK after renaming...
