Great vapours 2007-09-11 4:22

Always good to see you posting on here Mike. The monument is obvious here, but the smaller things such as the flag and the tourist are both good additions.

I climbed up the monument about 6 weeks ago...talk about narrow stairways.

Default To vapours: staircases

Hi Brendan,

Damn, I didn't know you could climb the tower, I'll have to go back and do it again sometime!

For a really narrow staircase, try the tower at the ruins of St. Andrews cathedral in Scotland. There's some sort of medieval tower in the middle of the site and you need to insert a token to enter a very claustrophobic staircase with worn steps and few windows, it seems to go on forever but then you're rewarded with a great view of the rolling surf and the town below... on a clear day, which was a luxury I didn't have (fog)!

Heres the view from half way up:

I made the mistake of going up with a hangover...I was almost going to throw up after going around and around on my way down.
