Great holmertz 2018-03-08 2:27

Hello Bev,
A very pleasant view with a lot of vegetation, and a fence, creating a lower frame. The idea that what is the best in England is automatically the best in the world makes me smile, ironically, especially in these Brexit days. But it is certainly not a bad view, and there is a great variety of still very mild colours that will probably get stronger as the months go by.
I guess that by now you have noticed that something went wrong with the title. Maybe you have already corrected it.
Kind regards,

Default To holmertz: Ruskin's View

Thank you, Gert.
Yes, I have corrected the title.
I had trouble posting my photograph this morning and had to keep exiting as the whole page kept freezing!

With regard to Ruskin, he was very influential in his day but couldn't possibly have travelled and seen places as we do today. I find some of the Victorian men somewhat pompous! Or was his comment a means of exciting more people to come north! Who knows!

Have a lovely day,
