I bet everyone here is a tourist.

funny again, to see the small satelite dishes on the old rustic homes :)

I would pay an arm and a leg to walk inside some of those! Just to see how they look.

a fine overview of the square and the shops, and the architecture. I hope the ambiance isn't ruined with the overly 'touristy' feel

Well, your observation is quite true. It is full of tourists and lost the charm of an authentic Sicilian town. Now you see only big brand stores and some restaurants with high prices... I love Sicily but the real one, not Taormina...nevertheless, it is attractive...
