As usual, I like yours pictures. This one remains me my grand father in western France : our major common point with Japan is that 60 yeras ago,France was mainly a rural country as well.
I had a look at the workshop and I think it is a bit too dark. But maiby a little darket of this shot would give strengh. It is a difficult thing because it is so easy to burn these greys. But a little darker would help to give them a little more "taste" and "velouté".
Once, please explain what you were doing in north Japan in the 60's. :-)

I was there (Misawa AB) from 1959 to 1964. First day there I bought a Nikon F. Still using Nikon, now have D4 an D600. I shoot rodeo, landscapes, birds, and dragon/damselflies. I take a lot of cruises but due to arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, am pretty much restricted to using a walker for mobility.
