Yes, this place is grim to be sure. It is one of the worst things I have ever witnessed, this place, and the man who relocated these people to these shacks is a millionaire with 2 hotels near Ankgor Wat. He also owes each family in the village , 39 in all, $100 each. He currently has a crew of over 20 people building a big new hotel on the banks of the Mekong river in Kampong Cham, but he allows these folks to live in shacks wrapped in the plastic he gave them as compensation for their relocation off of his new hotel property. It's happening all over Cambodia and the guy , to me, is disgusting.
