Re: This Version of TE is Horrible

Isabela, you may have saved me from completely abandoning this site. For the past couple months I have tried various times to try and get accustomed to the new TrekEarth. But to no avail. In fact,...

Re: To ViktorVaughn: a good trip

Well, you can always make another trip to Indonesia. It is a difficult country to see due to all the islands, and the inclement weather, and transportation. I hope to get east of Lombok as well, to...

Re: To ViktorVaughn: time

I think only small changes have taken place...yes, alot more pavement around the cities. And a nice stretch of highway connecting Aden to Al-Mukallah, but still quite a lack of tourists outside of...

To kmarscher: Wall or Hillside

This area is quite fascinating geographically as well. That is indeed a hillside, or more a cliff. The area is filled with valleys, and reminds me of the Grand Canyon (while not as grand a scale)...

To batalay: History Lesson

Hi Bulent,

As always a great note offering a wealth of information. My familiarity with history is a bit lacking so the information regarding the Temple of Artemis was welcomed. I definitely...

Hey Ana,

Thanks for the critique on my photo. As for safety in Yemen, it is a common question that people have asked me. I have actually written a few replies (if you check some of my other...

To capthaddock: Similarity

Hey Tan,

Well, I looked at the workshop photo you added, and it is very similar. Similar because it is the same building! Yup, off a side-road if headed towards Al Khureibah. Nobody told me...

Hey Brigitte,

Thanks for stopping by my gallery. I like your workshop, and like the straightened lines. What tool did you use to fix that?

Regards,
David

Hey Daniel,

Thanks for the comment on my photo. Guess I'm glad I hadn't read that book before, or else I would have been hesitant to go up to the top of the minaret and miss the beautiful view,...

To bigboroboy: Leaving Japan

It's a tough place to leave, and it left quite an impression on me in only the one year. I can imagine 7 years would be infinitely harder to leave. Yes, I made it up for the yuki matsuri, and loved...

Hey Mohammed,

Thanks for the critique.

I updated my note to include my hardware. I was using a Canon point-n-shoot, which at 4.0 megapixels was actually pretty decent for 3 years ago. But...

To avene: No person

Hey Kristine,

I had a photo with some boats with a pretty similar view, but decided on this one, as it has the solitude of just you (the viewer) and the scene. I like to remember this place on...
