To petite: Uluru workshop

Thanks for your workshop Marie, The colours in the original are certainly washed out a bit - the plane window was I think, the main culprit. As I remember it, the photo was a reasonable representation of what I saw through that window at the time... None the less I and a few people (see the other workshops) have spent time trying to compensate for the loss of quality. I think it is so difficult to judge the true colours at the time. Uluru is notorious for its changing hue. Also, the Australian bush tends to be grey green but having looked at other people's photos, I suspect the trees around Uluru are darker. Then there is the light and shadow at that time of day. So ultimately, I think the best result is to a great extent, a matter of taste. Having said all that, I think your effort is pretty good, maybe the best so far. Regards Paul.

Hi Paul, thanks for you reply. Next time I will check if there has been workshops before, sorry you must be bored of seeing people playing with this picture again and again! Anyway, I am glad you don't think I ruined the photo. Good thing to keep in mind, to keep the camera handy in the plane!
Regards,
Marie

Uh Huh, No, not bored. I'm pleased that people are interested enough to take the time to try. I'm sure it can be improved and it's interesting to see what others think is better. I played with it myself for a while but gave up because I could not convince myself that the results were both convincingly natural and better. In fact I thought some psychedelic versions were more interesting... Oh and yes, photos of flying above clouds esp in the tropics apeal to me. Have only super 8 myself though... Yes very old. Anyway, thanks for your feedback. Regards Paul.
