posed photos
Hope I've posted in the right place.
It concerns me that several of my photos have been removed by moderators due to them being classed as posed. These posed photos of mine were inspired by TE members who uploaded posed photos. Having duly read the TE terms and conditions, I accepted this rule and now I make sure none of my photos are posed, however I've noticed each day many pictures which are obviously posed are uploaded and accepted. Are these terms and conditions going to change for me when I've reached so many thousands of points? I feel as if I'm being patronised by trekearth for only having 100 points, whereas those with several thousand points are allowed more freedom. It all seems a bit hit and miss. Kind regards Neil |
Posed pictures
Thousand of points don't give us freedom to break the TOS.
But yu are able to post such pictures in Treklens. Cheers |
Posed photos
Hi,
I searched for 'pose' in the Terms of Service page, but didn't find such rule. Where is it? Kari |
Hi Neil, Didi & Kari,
The TOS says: 6. Photographs having a studio-like effect, selfportraits and photographs of own reflection or own shadow will also be deleted at the discretion of site moderators. If you wish to post these types of image please consider using our sister site TrekLens. In fact it should be: "...having a studio-like, posed or staged effect..." |
Strange...
So you are practising imaginary rules now.
Maybe you should wait until the change is a written fact, and as such conveyed to the posters? |

Terms of Service
I have a confession to make... I have never read the TOS, rather adapted to the system along the way. Besides, the division between TE, TN and TL makes the whole idea pretty obvious.
There is a saying that men never read manuals, probably because we are not so good with words. And any TOS will have a legal aspect, making them even more repelling. This is my suggestion: Make a statement, in very simple words, about what kind of images that are banned and risk deletion in TE. Then mail that statement to all new members, together with your words of welcome. Combined with a mail notice before deleting an image, that should reduce the anger that removal sometimes cause. |
Anger..?

kajenn...
That is poor marketing my friend, but an effective practice of dictatorship...
The activity in TE is reduced to less than half over the last couple of years, and you suggest that kind of management??? Good luck! |
