To hdl: ...tilted to the right

Hi Hendrik, I was just wondering, now the shot has been taken how would you straighten out this picture.
I am a novice photographer and am always looking for advice on the editing of the photo once the shot has been taken.

Thanks

Re: To hdl: ...tilted to the right

It's actually quite simple, really. I have both PSP7 and PS7, and all one needs to do is to rotate the image by the required number of degrees to the left or right. You have to crop again afterwards, but that's not a problem.

I'm still feeling my way around in Photoshop, but Paintshop has a lovely too for correcting those converging verticals that of spoil an architectural shot. Let me know if you want to know more about it, seeing as you also like photographing buildings.

Hope this helps!

Ray

I have PSP7 and the trimmed down version of PS namely PS Elements, I enjoy PSP7 because it has a very nice user interface to it. Thanks ray for the advice on how to straighten out a leaning building or whatever is skew.

The tool you mentioned in Paintshop for correcting converging verticals sounds interesting, could you tell me more?

Thanks Ray,

Mark

Hi Mark
Yes, I really like the fact that PSP is so user-friendly! But I am slowly getting to grips with the basics of PS hehehe.

As for correcting converging verticals or horizontals, open your image in PSP7, go to Effects, Geometric Effects, Perspective Horizontal (or Vertical). You will see what happens in the preview window, and can play around with the settings till you are happy. Afterwards you will have to crop your image, so it's better to do this before you resize.

Let me know whether this helps, and if needs you can contact me at my private e-mail address, which is my TE username at iprimus.com.au.

Happy playing with your vericals hehehe!

Regards
Ray
