So much to love about this shot, Kasia. What impresses me most is your impeccable timing - to catch the sun at a perfect spot as the bike rides by, and from a creative vantage point. Really nicely done. The variation in warmth within the frame works to your advantage as well. Really nice!

Hello John - what a lovely look at Flanders. The inclusion of the tables in foreground creates a nice, festive appearance. Amazing that this tradition has been ongoing for almost 900 years!

Hello Neyvan - I recall this spot from my own trip to Montevideo a few years ago, and in fact I took some shots from almost that same spot, though not quite the same direction. You had I think a nicer day than I did though, as I was there in winter. Nice juxtaposition between the boats and the somewhat blocky architecture beyond. Thanks!

Hi Ann - still a few Route 66 shots showing up I see; glad I did not miss them all. Love this one - despite the crumbling building it is amazing to see how well the sign has held up! It looks new and clean, with letters that are still bright! Thanks for shining a light into this little abandoned corner...

Hello Ana! A beautiful photo from Carnival in Lazarim - hopefully soon I will post some shots from Carnival in Panama which I recently saw. Very different than what I see from your shots in Portugal. This one is great, focusing on the detail of the burning mask. Outstanding fire photography, from the flames themselves to the tiny, barely visible sparks at bottom. Thanks!

One could read into this composition, Jean, as the Estonian boot kicking the Russians out... but sometimes a rain spout is just a rain spout, I suppose.

Wonderful juxtaposition, and you have created a nice winter scene here - muted colors overall, making the reds and yellows of the cathedral really pop against the near monotone surroundings. Thanks!

Took me a minute to find your secret garden, Paul, but I really like how you have presented this, looking uphill toward the houses, with only the palm in direct sunlight making the alley almost a window to another world. The street scene could be in a number of European cities, and the palm jumps out as seemingly out of place. And you caught a bird just above it too! Well captured.

Very nice storytelling image here, Dwaipayan. Well framed with a strong POV, and the tone lightening as you get further from the lens suggests she is walking toward something brighter...

What a gorgeous composition, Kasia. I took a shot not too dissimilar from this recently - a statue at twilight framed by a tree - but mine lacked that small detail of the fireball! An amazing feature, and one that really makes this an arresting shot, with its muted tones broken by the perfectly managed bright orange firelight. The result is a mythic tone that really jumps off the screen. Thanks!

Hello Bev - glad you pointed out the wind turbines or I surely would have missed them. The Boston area will hopefully be getting our own wind farm soon, if it can escape shortsighted politics and fears. The presentation of the pier leading out toward them is great, with a strong zig zag leading the eye. This really is quite an impressive pier, we do not have many in the States that are anything like it.

Bonjour Ann,
Aujourd'hui c'est la journée de la marmotte chez nous. On a dit à la TV qu'elle était sortie et qu'elle avait vu son ombre, ce qui veut dire que nous aurons une semaine d'hiver de plus. Pour ma part, je n'y crois rien, ce sont des histoire de ma grand-mère. Excellent portrait et bons détails.

C'est vrai que nous somme au même endroit dans nos derniers posts. Dommage que la mer n'aie pas été haute à ce moment là, c'est encore plus beau. Il faut prendre la marée comme elle est quand on passe. Nous aurions pu nous rencontrer, l'été dernier, car toit Diane, vous êtes venus dans le coin et c'est tout près de chez-moi.
Peut-être la prochaine fois. Pas de soleil mais la photo est quand même intéressante.

Bonsoir Jacques,
En voyant la photo, j'ai tout de suite deviné que c'était dans le Maine, pour y être déjà allé. Belle prise de vue de fin de journée et c'est intéressant de voir le phare sur le rocher au dessus d'une mer foncé. La lumière du phare ajoute de l'intérêt à l;a photo.

Très intéressante cette photo avec cet olivier qui a surement de l'âge. Un sujet qu'il ne fallait pas manquer. Excellente présentation et beau contraste du vert avec le beau ciel bleu.

Quelle belle vue sur la ville au coucher du soleil. Une belle présentation parfaitement exposée. La ville est magnifique avec les deux tours, les couleurs sont superbes et le ciel est fantastique.
