    Hello György,
Did you coincidentally happen to come this way, or did you spend so much time and effort to climb that steep hill of loose rocks to get the perfect angle? It actually is a perfect angle for the view of the road making two diagonal lines up to building. Two persons stopped where you had told them to, near the lower corner. Looking at the WS I sense that building is not a place to get stuck in out of the season. Did you see The Shining? Both photos are good but the WS is so near perfect I just have to save it among my favourites.
    Best wishes,
    Gert

    Hello John,
I don't need to see your signature to know this is one of your photos. It has all the ingredients of a classic jhm composition. Long lines of trees along a canal or river, well executed depth, perfect sharpness and colours and usually a cyclist or two to animate the view. It is neat and perfect and with excellent clarity.

    Dear Beverley,

Another nice shot from the English country-side. Have you ever considered how they decided to build these Henges? Anyhow, I recommend you this song of the Norwegian band Ylvis:

    Hi Alford
This location of nature beauty provides a very peaceful mind, a well proportioned image with some fine detail and surrounding interest. Its the jaw-dropping turquoise water that draws the eye instantly followed by the silky hypnotic 'flow" Your chosen pov does enhance the sense height and depth a great deal with excellent exposure control. Simply an eye candy shot, Congrats.

    Hello Jean,
A well chosen title that suits the photo and the present times equally well. The yellow tree is the most beautiful feature here, but all trees are very nicely reflected in the pond. I do appreciate the bench with two persons seated on it. I always feel that when there are people watching a certain view I am also brought closer to that view, as if I see it with their eyes.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hi Nicolas
You are at the right spot to identify an excellent photo ops with beautiful old door and the punchy colour of the tree to attract the eye. All you needed is someone walking in and the lone walker fits the bill to form an imaginary triangle as one package. The sublime early morning light and colours collaborate to complete the artwork! An evocative capture

    Hello Paul,
I had already heard from Malgo that you stayed very long in Laos. I wondered what kept you busy all that time, but that was certainly mainly because of my ignorance of the country. There were so few places that could be visited when I was there almost a lifetime ago.
All these photos are very agreeable. I would slightly favour WS #1 showing the village. But we miss the terraced tea plantations in that photo.
Being the only foreigner in a place is not necessarily a good situation. I prefer a reasonably small number of visitors, so there are some facilities for tourists. I get frustrated when a small place is so completely overrun by tourists that the locals lose all interest in the visitors.
    Best regards,
    Gert

    Hi Daniel
I thought this has a retro feel to it with the treatment to almost sepia tone, especially when looking at those tall funnels of the steamers fore and the far end. Just feel like a nice place to be at the time. Love the layout, this also reminds me of an old postcard. Part of the bow and mooring lines on the bollard add perspective and real depth transforming this a successful conversion satisfying your objective. Congrats

Great 'winter' image! and thanks for all this dusting snow even though it looks very unusual. The bright colour of the house lends a real boost of colour to liven the total capture. Weather is indeed very unpredictable nowadays. you are at right time & place to record the abnormal event. Well done

    Hello Malgo,
It's funny to see the difference between the two photos and how the kids reacted when they saw the foreign lady taking photos. This may be nothing special, but it's a nice view of daily life of a kind that doesn't get into TE so often. I like it.
In Sweden universities and the schools for those above 16 are closed, but of course the classes are held online. So far the pre-schools and lower grades (7-15) are open because it is regarded as a burden to society to keep the kids at home, which would force parents who may be needed in important jobs to stay home, or even worse: force vulnerable grandparents to take care of them.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Bev,
These stone circles are so fascinating because we don't really know (do we?) what they were used for or how people in those days managed to build them. We get a better impression of the actual circle in the WS, but the sheep are such a fine bonus to this photo that it deserves being the main upload. The colours are a bit punchier too in this photo.
    Kind regards,
    Gert
