i somewhat agree with sohrab. it is rather a static composition. to take up from where he left, if not the driver or his assistant, certainly a stray bird or any local fauna amidst the abundant flora would've added that (so) necessary touch of life which elevates a photograph from the mundane into sublime; and mind you, it is a thin line between the mundane and the sublime. and while we are on post-processing, another blur (ref. sohrab's post) is even more pronounced on the arc formed on the bottom left by the mud path. though examining the picture from another viewpoint, one might be tempted to think that the blurred corners accentuate the static nature of the truck. going by this fact, one can exonerate the presence of these disturbing eye-stabbers, if i may call them so. something that did catch my eye though is the tension created by the dynamic interplay of the vertical lines of the wooden poles holding up the shed and the diagonal of the shed roof. it adds an iota of invigoration to this otherwise static composition. on the whole, however, it might be better to call it a placid rather than a static composition. cheers :)

Interestin...the perspective makes the projected balconies n windows stand out in relief by accentuating the verticals. The facade is reminiscent of old rajasthani havelis with jharokhas. The brown n beiges look refurbished in contrast to the old brickwork. The pigeon in flight is a reward for the eagle eyed viewers ;)

vertigo! which way is up? they look like stacked layers. the play of lines is interesting, they would extend n converge at a vanishing point on the top centre! i love the sharp contrasts here, the building looks like it has that green kaai (moss) all over, and has an abandoned industrial feel. the pay of lines reminded me of 2 of your earlier pics - here and here.

The colors are very warm and rich. There's loss of detail on the right side of the face, due to darkness maybe, and somewhat on the beard, oversharpening. Makes me feel like brightening/lighting up the image a bit, but retaining the warmth of the colors. Gr8 to see a new pic from you after a long time!

great portrait...i feel the bit about the kashmiris being a proud people is shown by the fact that these guys wanted to look good for your picture session! his clean robes are a sharp contrast to the crumbling surroundings; no doubt the gown has been kept aside for special occasions. you were indeed lucky to be welcomed; these people opened up to you and shared their stories with you. (just an aside, aren't the people from so-called lower sections of society much more open hearted and welcoming to strangers than the civilized city folks!) now all that remains is to string maqbool's story into a travelogue and you have the icing on this cake :)
