Interesting weather front with rain on the horizon, the scene lends itself to cropping for a graphic presentation using the three wooden structures (for lifeguards I imagine) more prominently. Terrific beach scene from the lovely city of Mar del Plata.

I think this shot has been too easliy dismissed, not for it's social documentary value accompanying your notes but more that it displays my own impression of real Buenos Aires better than most images from the city I see here (La Boca, Casa Rosada, etc). The street lights and the architecture alone are typical. Things are improving again now, maybe not for everyone but the worst seems to be over without a catastrophe (ie military intervention).

Hi Carlos, you make light of the superb composition and timing, sometimes you make luck by instinct and preparedness. I can't add to what's been said (extensively!)already, except that this shot is extremely marketable and has great sales potential. I like the story in your notes and would love to spend time in such a location, most of my visits to Argentina though means staying in Buenos Aires. Ian

Hey, this is a great find, I see these old bath's in farmers' fields and sometimes tried to get shots but nevere found an interesting enough backdrop. The are many elements here to make a successful composition especially the way the two posts combine with the two mountains in the distance, that provides depth and scale and a sense of uniformity to such otherwise random details. Love the story too. Ian

The easily corrected tilt is forgivable, the scenery is breathtaking, a wonderful imposing backdrop for this small cluster of animals. The scene of a time honoured barter trade played out in such a remote area is quite heartwarming in this age of hyper commerce.

Shannon, so much already said about this one so just to say that it is one of the best shots of this type I have seen. The success is I think down to the urban setting and the gritty edit, not that it implies any harsh realism but a reality which comes through from your words. In other words, it's not a traditional, fluffy, over glamourised view, neither is it cold and bitter, therefore expectations are tempered with reality and somehow I think the mother and child will be great beneficiaries. Your photo does a great job of illustrating the story of realisation, acceptance and love. Well done, Ian
