Jack Kerouac was right, I can imagine him walking down on this road at night... with the Sea Kitchen roaring... Thanks for sharing!

You earned your luck! The body language, which for me really makes of breaks animal pictures, is great: it reflects shyness, inquisitiveness, and you even have what a human might recognize or interpret as eye contact. I would reconsider the crop though, and the depth of field (the sharpness zone) could include the eyes... but I like it anyway. Great color, too!

Yes, seeing only one of his eyes does make your brain race: you want to be more comfortable as a viewer. But then, he is probably a man who has a different idea about comfort, seeing, and being seen. Successful shot. It goes to my favs.

One of those rare portraits that say something about the relationship between the two people at both ends of the lens. Again, the words are dignity, respect, and beauty. What a life story he must have! Tech: Some horizontal lines. Scratched negative? Scanning error? Goes to favs nonetheless.

Beautiful, meaningful portrait. Amazing detail, absolutely documentary. It all looks so familiar in many ways: she's looking into your lens, but in actual reality she's probing into the greater world you represent, most of which she will probably never see. Yes, the concrete architecture adds to the value of the pic. Congratulations!

Great shot, great colors, great focus and depth of field, and what is greatest of all: the dignity on the face of this woman. As a child, I helped my father kill a pig or two every winter, and I know these occasions were quite festive in their own way, and respectful of the animals as well: we in Hungary used up absolutely everything other than the gut content, the bile, the hair, and the hooves of the animal. It was no waste. This may be why this portrait does not strike me as savage at all. Again: a respectful and dignified portrait. Congratulations!
