The City of Lights I (25) Curioso
(8922) | Following the suggestion of some of you, I went back to Notre-Dame yesterday, joining the mass of tourists to shot some nightly scenes.
This shot is one of the more impressive to my mind. I had some difficulties to find the right setup and I really felt stupid not having any tripod yet. So, I had to improvised by using the stones of the tower.
I made a light cropping to concentrate on the perspective of the Seine river and sharpened a little bit.
I really would know your feeling (both technical & artistical) on this one in order to know how to improve such city night views. You can have a look at the Workshop.
Thanks.

For foreign people, let's mention you can see the "Tour Eiffel", the "Invalides" on the far left. On the center, it's the "Quartier Saint-Michel" and on the very background you can also see the "Arc de Triomphe" and the "La Défense" skyline with its "Grande Arche"... |

| Used Contrast Masking to bring out a bit more shadow detail and reduce the highlights slightly. NewLayerViaCopy, Desaturate, Invert, Blur/Guassian/19px, blend layers Overlay 100%. Used a soft edged eraser on parts of the sky to keep it dark. |
