In this Sunday, here the church Nykirken. The photograph was taken on the other side of the pond that separates the area of the Hanseatic quarter Nordnes.
Nykirken one of the churches in Bergen, Norway. It was built in stone in 1621 for the inhabitants of Nordnes, after the churches in the area have been destroyed and that for a long time people had to walk to Domkirken for communion.

The church is built on the ruins of the former residence of a archevèque, whose walls remained until the seventeenth century. foundations served cemetery to 1637. After a fire in 1756 a new church was built on top of it, and the cemetery, abandoned in 1863 was razed about him after the great fire of 1944, caused by the explosion of a cargo ship loaded ammunition.
A note its coverage of black glazed tiles used on many Norwegian homes is a sign of wealth.
Recent restorations dating from 1956 and 1996, the church can accommodate 750 people.
