Drakkar (14)

In Oslo on Bygdoy, you will find the museum of Viking ships (Vikingskipshuset). Three drakkars were discovered in the region of Oslofjorden. They had served graves to important figures after being hoisted on earth. Dating back to the 9th sc, they have been kept since being earth in the dense clay. Two in them are in a perfect state of preservation: Oseberg and Gokstad. The Tune is in poor condition. The Oseberg ship (buried in 834) is 22 metres long and required 30 rowers. His sculptures represent dragons and snakes. Its funeral chamber housed the largest collection of objects ever found in Viking Scandinavia. The Gokstad, 24 m in length, offers the best example to the world of drakkar.

I chose this photo to shadow on the wall.

In WS sculptures of Oseberg.
