Walking along the streets of Bogota, I met this beautiful church in the popular sector Chapinero, and I am pleased to see how at the top, at 4:30 pm, in a splendid sky, the moon is in sight timidly, as wanting to tell a secret to the dome of the church.
The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes is a Catholic religious temple of worship under the invocation of the Virgin Mary at Lourdes in the city of Bogota, Colombia.
This temple is Moorish Gothic style, was commissioned to build by Archbishop Vincent Arbelaez, and inaugurated in 1875. It is the symbol more representative of the town of Chapinero because of their architecture, their artistic works, and its windows all of which makes it one of the most important benchmarks in the capital for themselves and visitors.
It is located in the Carrera 13 No. 63-27 in front of the homonymous square.
This is the first built in Gothic style. It was built in 1875, but after 1917, the ambitious original proportions were modified. It highlights the stained glass polychrome of German origin and monumental interior spaces, the square tower that completes the facade, the front of the turrets, arches warhead doors and ornamentation of the cornices.
The WS placed another photo, a more comprehensive approach to the dome |
